Using suction to eliminate pain
Cupping is an ancient form of healing that has seen a surge in popularity in recent years. From the Olympics to the NBA, it's been hard to miss the tell-tale red dots covering athletes' bodies; however, cupping isn't just for professionals.
Cupping can be an effective option for conditions of the back, neck, shoulder, or other areas commonly associated with muscle pain.Your Synergy therapist will determine the appropriate locations and amount of cups to use during your treatment, and will use a pump to create an airtight seal between the cups and the chosen area. The suction will pull the skin upward, allowing for increased circulation to the area and the weakening of tissue adhesions that may be causing discomfort.
After your cupping treatment, your skin on the treated area will most likely be red from the suction. The marks may have the appearance of bruising, but should fade within a number of days.
