Team Quick Facts

What is your favorite food/meal?

Hard question since I am a food person and willing to try everything once. My family loves to cook, from my mom's traditional Mexican meals, my dad's grilling, to my sister's baking. I guess anything homemade I am a sucker for.

What is your favorite thing about physical therapy?

My favorite part of PT is the connections I am able to make with patients. Contributing and celebrating their little victories and "lightbulb" moments in their treatment. I think connecting and allowing your patients to laugh and have fun in therapy makes the work enjoyable.

What is your favorite way to spend the weekend?

Surrounded by those that I care about, whether it's movie nights at home or exploring new things around the Valley: street fairs, concerts, games, trying out patient-recommended restaurants etc. If I am not in the city I am in my hometown.

Dee is a Physical therapy Assistant

From an early age, Dee’s world revolved around dance. She began dancing at just five years old, entered the competitive circuit by 12, and started teaching by 16—a role she continued until her mid-20s. While at NAU, she founded UNITY Dance Crew, creating a space for adults to stay connected to dance. Her experience as both a dancer and a patient recovering from injuries sparked her interest in physical therapy. To gain hands-on experience, she worked in PT clinics during summer breaks, assisting both at the front desk and as a technician.

Beyond her professional interests, Dee is a self-proclaimed music nerd, Disney enthusiast, and devoted Star Wars fan. Whether in the clinic or on the dance floor, she brings a deep understanding of movement, recovery, and the joy of staying active.
