Team Quick Facts

What is your favorite food/meal?

I love to eat and I am not picky (most of the time).  I would say my favorites are pizza, cheeseburger, tacos and french fries.  I know these are "bad" foods but I eat in moderation and I workout so I can eat what I want when I want.

What is the common misconception with PT?

The common misconception with PT is that is a quick, maybe one or two visits and you are cured.  The process can be long and it is common for us to see patients for several months.  Treatment involves very specific components that change each visit but each component is purposeful, we have to peel layers of the dysfunction/deficiencies patients are dealing with and this is what takes time.

How many states have you traveled to and what is your favorite?

I have traveled to 12 states including Montana in which I lived for a short period as well as Washington D.C.  I would have to say my favorite state is Montana; it is really beautiful and peaceful there with a lot of outdoor activity available, however, it is way too cold!

Alicia is Synergy's physical therapist assistant, and you'll see her helping patients throughout the clinic.

Alicia was born and raised in Arizona and is an Arizona State Sun Devil for life!  Her only time living outside of Arizona was to coach cross country at the University of Great Falls in Montana. Sports and recreation has always been part of her life, so a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Wellness and a degree as a physical therapist assistant was an easy choice. Alicia continues to learn so she can provide the best care for Synergy patients and help them to achieve their goals.

Alicia feels it is important to live an active lifestyle as a commitment to her health, and to be a good example for her patients. Plus, it just feels good! She is always learning about new exercises and workouts, and is currently studying to become a certified strength and conditioning specialist to expand her wheelhouse of exercise and nutrition-based knowledge.

Alicia is a talented artist and is currently working on a series of anatomy drawings, including the skeletal and muscular systems. She would also like to complete a detailed drawing of the heart with all of the working structures. She decided to start this series to challenge her artistic abilities and create something amazing. Alicia also has plans to write and illustrate children's books in the future.
